Google is #1 again, not too surprising. Quicken Loans moves up to #2 from #17. For crying out loud, they added almost 2,000 jobs. In Michigan at that! Interesting in that Valassis has missed the list for the 2nd consecutive year now after being #100 in 2005 and #69 in 2006. And Dow was also left off the list after ranking #55 in 2007. Michigan was also represented by Herman Miller at #96, Plante & Moran at #44, and S.C. Johnson & Son at #27. Google's dominance appears to be at the expense of Yahoo, which fell from #44 in 2007 to #87 in 2008. And now there's news of 700 employees being laid off soon. Kudos to S.C. Johnson & Son and Herman Miller for having the lowest turnover ratios for all companies on the list at 2% and 3% respectively.
